The remote name could not be resolved

    Hy, I’m working on C# application that use Sandbox. When I try to execute the mapReduce I got an error :”The remote name could not be resolved: ‘sandbox.hortonworks.com'”, somebody know the solution for this? Tnx

    Hi dj,

    I expect that you are running your application on your workstation and not in the sandbox.
    You would need to add sandbox.hortonworks.com to your hosts file – although this would be 127.0.0.1 – this could cause some issues. I would try this first and then if you end up in more difficulty you would have to assign the sandbox an IP on your network using bridged networking. This would be accomplished by adjusting the network settings in the sandbox itself.

    Hi Dj,

    This isn’t a generic sandbox issue – I would suggest you post this in the MapReduce forum as people there would be best placed to help you.
    It sounds like you have a syntax error as you’re missing a “-input ” flag
