I am trying to run HortonWorks sandbox on my intel i3 with 6GB ram and VT-X technology is ON , but still there are some errors which say that

Kernel panic not syncing : Attempted to kill init !
    pid 1, comm : init Not tainted 2.6.32 – 358 .23.z..e16.x86_64 #1

I am a newbie , so cannot get what it is trying to say it to me. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Shadab,

You will find the information on how to configure it in the VMWare Workstation manuals:

    https://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/ws_pubs.html

It should have 4GB of RAM configured and 2 CPU processors – The Network should be set to NAT but if you are running it on Windows then sometimes bridged works best.

You left the OS for the Guest as Linux Red Hat 64?

    Thanks

    Hi Shadab,

Can you go to the configuration of this virtual machine and check that the memory & CPU settings are correct for your hardware?

    Thanks

Well since this was my first interaction with Hadoop, this was my first download of image. Then again, I downloaded this image for second time but same results :(

    Hi Shadab,

    Did this sandbox ever work?
Have you tried re-downloading the image?
The error suggests CentOS cannot find the boot partition.

    Thanks

    Hi Shadab,

What VM software are you running the sandbox in?

    Thanks
