    Hi Pal,

Can you please let us know how you installed your HDP? If you need to access Dashboard you can go to http://:8080. Once in the dashboard you can click on installed service and there you should find a link to UI for particular service. For example if you click on HDFS you will find link to NameNode Web UI which will be: http://namenode:50070, or Map Reduce JobTracker Web UI http://jobtracker:50030.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks,
    Seth

    Hi Seth,
Sorry If I was not clear (I was after end-user tools for data access and query in HDP 1.2)

I did HDP ambari auto-install and configured host via ambari i.e http://ip:8080/ . I can see UI (user interface) links for HDP services in dashboard and services tab of ambari admin.

I was after end-user tools for data access and query for following services; similar to HDP sandbox

Beeswex (Hive UI) (for example http://ip:8000/beewax)
    PIG (for example http//ip:80000/pig)
    Hcatalog (for example http//ip:80000/hcatalog)
    File Browser (for example http//ip:80000/filebrowser)
    Hue (Shell) (for example http//ip:80000/shell)
    Job Browser (for example http//ip:80000/jobbroswer)
    Job Designer (for example http//ip:80000/jobsub)
    Oozie Editor/Dashboard (for example http//ip:80000/oozie)

I am not sure if I have to configure and route all UI’s to single port number (example 8000) as they have done in HDP sandbox)

    thanks
    Pal

    Hi Pal,

Unfortunately, Ambari does not have these features. Currently, these features are available in Sandbox only.

    Hope this helps,
    Seth

    Hi Pal,

These user web tools are based on REST API of each component. Sandbox assemble and customize them for user testing friendliness. They will be there for Sandbox using next HDP, however they are unlikely in the next release HDP.

To access each component’s WebUI of HDP, using the default port configs, can be:

    File Browser (for example http//namnode:50070)
    Job Browser (for example http//jobtracker:50030)
    Oozie Editor/Dashboard (for example http//oozie-server:11000/oozie)

    Pig/Hive don’t have a built-in Web UI yet.

    Thanks,
    Yi

    Hi Yi,
    Thanks for your response,
I used HDP Sandbox to demo the product to business users. And I was hoping to show demo on HDP with same GUI (web tools)
Can these REST API for each components customized/configured/installed to HDP environment similar to sandbox .
I can understand if these REST API are not out-of-box of HDP, but is there any document or pointer which how to configure them on HDP

    thanks
    Pal

    Hi Paul,
Hue is not built into HDP, it strictly used for sandbox. There maybe future plans to include it in HDP.

    Regards,
    Robert

    Hi Pal,

Just a quick note, this would have been more appropriately posted in the 1.2 feedback forum.

    Thanks,
    Ted.
