Unable to save the input file in hadoop

    I am trying to save a sample.txt file in hadoop file system using

    ./softwares/hadoop/bin/hadoop dfs -put sample.txt /input

    It is not showing any errors, but when i see in /input folder sample.txt not found.I can see only /input folder

    ./softwares/hadoop-1.2.0/bin/hadoop dfs -ls /input

    What distribution did you use?
    What installation methode did you use?
    It looks like your cluster is misconfigured…
