HDP on Linux – Installation Forum

Upgrade from HDP 2.0.5 to 2.0.6

  • #41668

Is there an easy upgrade path for 2.0.5 beta to the latest 2.0.6 release for the full stack?

    Hi Darryl,

Unfortunately upgrades from Beta to GA are unsupported. Are you running the Beta in production?

No, it is just a development environment, so there is no real data here to save. We were just looking for easiest upgrade path and that might be a plain uninstall and reinstall.

    Hi Darryl,

Yes that is correct. You could try an upgrade and if the data is lost you can format the namenode – it will give you an indication as to what may go wrong. Especially if you were just going to clean up the machine and start again anyway?
