HDP on Windows – Installation Forum

Using HCatalog directly?

  • #31394

in my HCatalog-0.4.1\bin directory are only three files:
    “hcat” – a bash script
    “” – a python skript
    “” – another python script

How can I run HCatalog with Windows’ cmd directly?

    Best regards

You can run “” under hadoop command line window, you will see the detail parameter and describe.
e.g: -e “create table student(id int, name string, score int)”
    Hope this helps.

    Some usage information is below:

    usage: hcat { -e “” | -f “” } [ -g “” ] [ -p “” ]
    [ -D”=” ]
-D use hadoop value for given property
-e hcat command given from command line
    -f hcat commands in file
-g group for the db/table specified in CREATE statement
    -h,–help Print help information
-p permissions for the db/table specified in CREATE statement

    Hope this helps,
