(VMWare) Connectivity Issue Detected.

  • #41618

I was able to run Hortonworks Sandbox 1.3 on VMWare RC6. It was working fine till last week. Two things changed on my Windows 8 64GB laptop.
    #1. Upgraded to Windows 8.1
#2. Changed C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts to block a lot of sites.

Now I am getting “Connectivity Issue Detected. Check connection of network interface.” message on VMWare Player.
    What are my options?

    Thank you.

    Hi Dinesh,

This is a VMWare issue as opposed to a problem with the Sandbox in general.
It means there are network issues with VMWare and your OS. You could check the network adapter in there – bridged, NAT etc. I would suggest use bridged. Find the IP which it comes up with (via the console) and then try and connect to that.

thanks for the reply. Looks like something went wrong with VMWare after OS upgrade. After installing latest version of VMWare Player and after selecting “bridged” option it is all working again.

    Thank you,
    Dinesh Pohane.
