Want to change the dfs.name.dir

  • #28109

I want to change the HDFS mount i.e. dfs.name.dir from currently hostname to external ip, but there is no provision in ambari to do the same. Moreover, even if, I want to install the namenode to a different host, is there any provision to change the namenode host?

You can not move namenode to different host, this is unsupported functionality as of now.
You can modify dfs.name.dir property in HDP 1.3 and above, this was not supported by Ambari in the older versions.

    Thank you!
