    Hey Dave,

I deleted the machine and re-imported and it solved the issue. The only change I did made on my system was, I stopped the Oracle services and then imported the machine. Thanks for all your assistance.

    Hello Dave,

When I try to do ssh to the port 2222 on 127.0.0.1, it returns me connection refused. Do you know of the probable cause?

    Thanks,
    Amit Daga

    Hi Amit,

Can you ssh to port 2222 on 127.0.0.1 when the Sandbox is running?

    Thanks

    Hi Amit,

Are you using VMWare or VirtualBox?
Did you change the network settings when you imported the VM as everything should run on 127.0.0.1

    Thanks

    Dave

    Also when the Sandbox boots up, it gives the message;

unable to connect to the host sandbox/10.0.2.15:8020.

    Hello Dave,

I have started Ambari and logged into it as you mentioned. The start and stop button on most of the services are disabled and on the HBase even though the button is active, it doesn’t starts the service.

Please let me the next step.

    Thanks,

    Hi Amit,

It sounds like HDFS is not running etc, which would be why you are seeing some other errors.
Can you start Ambari on the sandbox and log into that?

    ambari-server start

    127.0.0.1:8080

    admin/admin

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

I just did the installation of the Sandbox and when I opened the URL in the browser it was giving me this error on the filebrowser. There were multiple logs here, can you give me the name of the specific one I should put here?

The exception value it returns on the page is: urlopen error [Errno 111] Connection refused

I feel that this might be related to the other problem which I am getting with Hive and HCat where it is not listening to the port 9083.

    Thanks,
    Amit Daga

    Hi Amit,

Does this happen on any file you are getting from HUE?
Can you attach the logs here – they will be in /var/log when you ssh into the sandbox.

    Thanks

    Dave
