    Hi Nietzsche,

Do you mean when is Ambari going to be able to control the Hue service?
As you can install Hue on an Ambari 1.3.2 install.

    Thanks

Oh, I didn’t know that. I am on a slightly older version of Ambari. Time to upgrade then!

    Hi Nietzsche,

Sorry, I actually meant the HDP 1.3.2, so you may need to upgrade your stack.

    Thanks

I installed HDP 1.3.2 using Ambari. This page says the Ambari version is 1.2.5
    http://hortonworks.com/products/hdp/hdp-1-3/

The apache ambari page says the latest version of ambari is 1.2.4
    http://incubator.apache.org/ambari/

Looking through the apache jira issues for ambari, it looks like Hue was done in release 1.2.3

So what version is the HDP ambari? And How do I verify that?

    Hi Nietzsche,

If you installed Ambari from 1.3.2 then it will be Ambari version 1.2.5.17
You can run rpm -qa | grep ambari

    Or you can enter psql:

psql -U ambari ambari (default password is bigdata)

    Then run:

    select * from metainfo;

This will give you the version of Ambari.

The ambari version will not affect the HUE install, only the HDP stack. However with Ambari, you will need to modify the xml files from within ambari and not directly.

    Thanks

    Dave
