PALO ALTO, Calif.—June 12, 2014—Hortonworks, the leading provider of 100-percent open source enterprise Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced that it has been recognized with an HP AllianceOne Award for HP ConvergedSystems at the HP Discover 2014 conference, taking place June 10-12, 2014 in Las Vegas.
The HP AllianceOne Award for ConvergedSystems recognizes Hortonworks for its strategic relationship and reseller agreement for the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP). HDP is a key component of HP’s big data platform, HAVEn, which enables customers to deploy a modern data architecture built on Hadoop, powering new applications and supporting existing ones with additional data. By combining HP technologies and HDP, organizations can quickly explore and analyze vast amounts of multi-structured data including machine generated, web, social and geospatial.
“We are honored to be named a 2014 HP AllianceOne Partner of the Year,” said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development, Hortonworks. “This award is a testament to our commitment to expand the Hadoop ecosystem via partners like HP that enable enterprises to build and deploy big data solutions to meet their unique business goals. As the amount of data in the world soars, our strategic partnership with HP provides customers with the big data platforms, applications and tools necessary to support and enhance their modern data architectures.”
The HP AllianceOne partner program offers a solid framework for collaboration by integrating servers, storage, networking, security, power and cooling, and services. As a member of the AllianceOne program, Hortonworks leverages HP AllianceOne solutions, tools and resources to help clients speed time to application deployment, optimize infrastructure capacity, reduce power consumption and free resources to focus on innovation that drives business growth.
The HP AllianceOne Award winners were selected by representatives of the HP areas in which awards were given, and presented to outstanding HP partners who have demonstrated the ability to develop and deliver solutions that clearly set them apart from others, as well as provide proof of their solutions’ value to their customers and to HP.
“Congratulations to Hortonworks on its HP AllianceOne Partner of the Year Award for HP ConvergedSystems,” said Doug Oathout, vice president, Global Marketing, SMB and Alliances, Enterprise Marketing, HP. “Hortonworks has demonstrated outstanding dedication and expertise in addressing the business and technology needs of its customers by helping them process multiple data streams and build complex applications to meet their business’ go-to-market strategies.”
