Cloud Partner of the Year!

Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference is well underway. The conference is a great opportunity for Microsoft’s partner community to understand key marketing and business strategies and engage with the Microsoft community. At this year’s conference, Microsoft’s National Sales Organization announced its 2015 Partner of the Year awards, and Hortonworks has been recognized with the Cloud Partner of the Year Award for both the West and Central U.S. Regions.

The Hortonworks team is honored to receive the Enterprise Partner Group Cloud Partner of the Year Award – an honor that we received thanks to our longstanding relationship with Microsoft. We have worked closely with Microsoft to bring the benefits of Apache Hadoop to Windows and to Microsoft Azure. While this is not the first open source project for Microsoft, our collaboration with Microsoft and the Apache community have created extensive contributions in extracting insights and simplifying operations. Through this collaboration, Hortonworks and Microsoft are able to harness existing .NET and Java development team skills with rich developer frameworks that enable them to write and deploy Hadoop jobs from existing or new applications to provide a “Hadoop Inside” experience. The team acknowledged the achievement at the Worldwide Partner Conference, as seen in the photos below.

MS Partner of Year Award (2)

The Microsoft Partner Conference Awards program recognizes partners who have delivered exemplary solutions built on Microsoft technologies. Microsoft has recognized the sales traction generated through its relationships. The Hortonworks collaboration demonstrates the business results realized through a focus on delivering enterprise grade solutions for Apache Hadoop.
