Hortonworks and SAS: A Strategic Alliance

Today, we are pleased to announce our strategic alliance between Hortonworks and SAS. Through this alliance we are committing to expand the integration between the SAS business analytics and data management capabilities and the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP).

By better integrating SAS Business Analytics and HDP, SAS users can easily incorporate Hadoop as a component of their data architecture to capture, process and analyze data of any type and scale. This allows businesses to leverage powerful SAS analytic and data management capabilities across massive data sets, including new data sources that previously could not be captured and analyzed.

The Modern Data Architecture for Data Analytics

The emergence of Hadoop as a key component of the modern data architecture requires that users be able to leverage existing skills and deep integration with existing data center technologies. As a critical technology in use at thousands of enterprises, SAS is a crucial Hortonworks partner that will unlock the power of Hadoop in simple and familiar ways using the SAS toolset.

SAS + Hortonworks Data Platform

The partnership between SAS and Hortonworks will allow Enterprises to run Hortonworks Data Platform; the only 100-percent open source data platform powered by Apache Hadoop, with market leading analytics SAS solutions such as SAS Visual Analytics, SAS High-Performance Analytics Server in their Hadoop environment. Enterprises can also utilize SAS/ACCESS Interface to Hadoop to connect and easily access all types of data stored in Hadoop.

SAS and Hortonworks will continue to invest in integration of Hadoop and SAS products to drive further value for customers. For more details on the SAS and Hortonworks relationship, attend our joint webinar on November 13, 2013 at 10am PST/ 1pm EST.
