At the beginning of the year we announced the Hortonworks Data Heroes initiative. It’s our way of recognizing the Data Visionaries, Data Scientists, Data Architects, and Innovators transforming their businesses and organizations through Big Data.
Hortonworks has over 1,000 total customers spanning every industry, each with a unique Big Data journey. Our Data Heroes program lets us highlight a few individuals who are helping create radical change in their organizations.

The objectives of the company’s Big Data platform include building and operating data products that enable applications in customer understanding, service, and artificial intelligence. Reliance Jio has become the world’s first and only Exabyte telecom network with more with more than 130M subscribers in one year. Jio Foresight has been built leveraging open source technologies like Apache Hadoop and streaming analytics. It provides extensible application modules for network analytics, customer management, social collaboration and performance management. This transformation relies on Big Data to transform all telecommunication data sets into an advanced centralized analytics and visualization platform. The convergence of these datasets through custom algorithms and advanced data models provided engineers a 360-degree view of the networks characteristics at any given point in time.
