Join Hortonworks at TU-Automotive Detroit

TU-Automotive Detroit (formerly Telematics Detroit) is the premier industry show focused on connected car and telematics and Hortonworks is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the conference. We hope you can visit us at the show, to learn more about Hadoop for the connected car and infotainment in the vehicle.

Hortonworks counts some of the world’s premier automakers among its subscribers, and at TU-Automotive Detroit, on Wednesday June 3, Hortonworks President Herb Cunitz will deliver a keynote presentation Leveraging Telematics Data in a Connected World that will discuss some common automotive use cases. Herb’s presentation will also cover:

  • An overview of Hadoop, explaining how Hadoop completes the connected car ecosystem and how automakers can monetize telematics data
  • How open source Hadoop has become the central component for ingesting, processing, and storing massive amounts of data from tens of millions of vehicles
  • How Hadoop ingests streaming packets and evaluates complex event conditions for real-time decisions in the connected car ecosystem

On Thursday, June 4, Hortonworks co-founder Suresh Srinivas will participate in a panel discussion: Data Transforms the Automotive Industry. Suresh is one of the original Hadoop architects, and he brings a unique perspective on how Hadoop’s YARN-based architecture is ideal for ingest, storage and processing of data from the Internet of Things (IoT).

Also, Hortonworks plans some exciting announcements at the show, and we invite all attendees to stop by our booth #160 to watch live demos of Hortonworks Data Platform for automotive applications.
