Microsoft HDInsight recognized as a Leader in Forrester Big Data Hadoop Cloud Wave

Apache Hadoop has emerged as a rising star in open source technology since it not only disrupts the economics of big data and analytics, it also empowers enterprises to solve many of the growing problems associated with managing massive datasets.

Of course, public cloud adoption has continued to accelerate.

Forrester’s most recent report illustrates that running Apache Hadoop in the cloud is becoming a key requirement for enterprises as they deploy hybrid data architectures.  As such, public cloud infrastructure is turbo charging enterprise IT agility and flexibility.  Organizations are more confidently embracing a cloud-first approach for deployment and management of data workloads.

Hortonworks would like to congratulate Microsoft for being recognized as a leader in the report entitled “Forrester Wave: Big Data Hadoop Cloud Solutions, Q2 2016.” The engineering teams from Hortonworks and Microsoft have worked hand-in-hand on making Azure HDInsight an ideal platform for deploying Hortonworks Data Platform, especially for Spark at Scale as well as for Hive and other mission critical workloads.

“We’re excited that Forrester recognized both the strength of Microsoft’s offerings as well as our strategy with Microsoft being recognized as a leader of the Big Data Hadoop Cloud Wave” said Tiffany Wissner, Microsoft Sr. Director of Product Marketing, Data Platform. “In the Forrester report, Microsoft specifically was called out for having a cloud-first strategy that scales for organizations of all sizes. We will continue to work with Hortonworks and focus on delivering the highest value to our customers and partners through innovations that make big data and analytics even more accessible.” To read more, please click here:
