Last week, Eric Thorsen, our vice president for industry solutions, visited Europe to meet with customers and we managed to get some time with him to talk specifically about trends we are seeing in the retail sector as part of our ‘Five Minutes with….’ video series.
As we hit the ramp up the busy shopping period for Christmas, it was interesting to hear Eric’s thoughts on the adoption trends by retailers across Europe and how it is mirroring what we’ve seen in the US.
In our first video, Eric looks specifically at the opportunities for retailers to solve business problems such as inefficient transport routes, stock outs and managing a customer’s multi-channel experience.
In our second video, we asked about the importance of big data to retailers today given the industry has seemingly been addressing it for many years. Eric explores what’s changed and more importantly, why.
We’ll be continuing the series next week with a look at the role of loyalty programmes as relates to retailers’ objectives and approaches alongside consumer trends.
