SAP and Hortonworks partner on Hadoop

If you are an enterprise, chances are you use SAP.  And you are also more than likely using – or planning to use – Hadoop in your data architecture.

Today, we are delighted to announce the next step in our strategic relationship with SAP as they announce a reseller agreement with Hortonworks.  Under this agreement, SAP will resell Hortonworks Data Platform and provide enterprise support for their global customer base.  This will enable SAP customers to implement a data architecture that includes SAP HANA and the Hortonworks Data Platform and in so doing leverage existing skills to take advantage of the massive scalability and performance offered by Apache Hadoop. And of course the ability to work with Hadoop through SAP provides the ability to interact with all that data via SAP BusinessObjects and the family of analytic tools.

Instant access and infinite scale for SAP customers

By using SAP HANA and Hadoop together, customers get the power of instant access with SAP HANA and infinite scale with Hadoop.  This gives SAP users a broad range of options for storing and analyzing new types of data and the ability to create applications that can uncover new business opportunities from vast amounts of data that would not have been previously possible.

Enabling the Modern Data Architecture

Apache Hadoop is a core component of the data center architecture of tomorrow and at Hortonworks our goal is to enable the broad ecosystem of current systems and applications to adopt Hadoop. Consistent with this vision, we are pleased that great partners such as Microsoft, Teradata, Rackspace and now SAP have chosen to make the Hortonworks Data Platform core to their Hadoop strategies.

We want to connect SAP ECC with Hadoop. We don’t want to go for HANA.
Can you provide this connection using your interface product?
