Enterprises are outgrowing their traditional business intelligent solutions and struggling to use the data they have collected to gain real insights. What happens is that data engineers will scramble to shift data sets between repositories so that data can be analyzed using older methods. As data volumes and data sources grow this problem is only getting worse.
Next week we have the pleasure of hearing from Verizon’s Ibrahim Itani, Executive Leader of Big Data Architecture and Technology. Ibrahim will talk about Verizon’s big data journey and how they use new technologies to solve problems with data at scale without data movement. Ibrahim will be joined by Ajay Anand, VP of Product Management at Kyvos Insights, and Sanjay Kumar, General Manager of Telecom at Hortonworks, who will share additional use cases that leverage big data architectures and interactive BI to reach their business goals. The talk will cover:
Ibrahim Itani serves as the Executive Leader of Big Data Architecture and Technology at Verizon Communications. Ibrahim has a rich background in IT leadership and systems management and is instrumental in the development and success of the award winning Verizon’s Big Answers Platform that served to revolutionize the way customer data is managed, interacted with and viewed.
Sanjay Kumar is the General Manager, Telecom at Hortonworks. He currently leads the global telecom practice at Hortonworks, helping service providers leverage Hadoop to transform their data into a force of business growth and competitive differentiation.
Ajay Anand is the Vice President of Product Management at Kyvos Insights, delivering a patent-pending, multi-dimensional OLAP solution that runs natively on Hadoop. Previously he was Co-founder and Vice President of Products at Datameer, and the Director of Product Management for Hadoop at Yahoo!.
We look forward to learning more about this Verizon use case. Join us!
