Title: Sr. Channel Operations Analyst

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Objectives: 

The objective of the Sr. Channel Operations Analyst will be to act as a business partner to our Global Channel & Alliances organization. Operating with an analytical mindset, the ideal candidate must have deep experience with the latest sales and business intelligence tools, such as Salesforce, Domo, and Mintigo. The successful candidate will have implemented a rigorous process and system for gathering and analyzing market, customer and competitor research, analyzing the results of go to market programs, and driving actions towards Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which increase demand and awareness of Hortonworks’ products and solutions. An excellent communicator, the successful candidate will engage with the channel sales leadership team across the globe, to deliver alliance initiatives, derive insights from data, and lead programs that help enable success. The ideal candidate will have delivered this, in the context of a Channel & Alliances context.

  • Build and implement analytics and business intelligence which will enable the global channel sales organization to successfully execute on selling strategies, build greater partner intimacy, and achieve sales goals.
  • Support our wider sales operations teams in research, analysis, development and implementation of key strategies related to the sales cycle.
  • Define, refine and automate our systems / processes / templates that will allow us understand the market environments and competitor landscapes in which we operate and compete
  • Provide the product teams with “intelligence” that helps guide / test their product decisions, requirements and strategies, and support New Product Introductions
  • Develop the intelligence that informs and justifies additional investments in Hortonworks Channel Offerings using pricing, bundles, packages and promotions to drive net new, up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Partner market and competitor research activities to expose strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in every market space and geography we operate and compete
  • Develop channel sales leadership dashboards, PPT presentations, etc…to communicate results in a succinct, easy-to-understand manner, to all levels of the organization

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • BA/BS with high proven achievement, MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of related experience working in software and services businesses
  • Proven experience supporting and partnering with Channel & Alliance organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize a message for executive level presentations
  • Strong analytical capabilities and previous experience developing data-driven analyses
  • Strategic mindset – be able to tell a story through analysis
  • Business planning for a high growth, global business
  • Exceptionally strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
  • Proven ability to work across organizations
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
