Regional Director, UK

We are seeking an energetic, innovative sales leader with a flair for developing new business, identifying and selling to customer needs, as well as coaching, mentoring and leading a sales team. You'll join our relationship-driven team and take charge of developing detailed sales/marketing plans and maximizing sales opportunities to drive results and inspire productivity and teamwork.

You will rely on your experience and good judgment to proactively build and exponentially grow accounts and drive year-over-year growth in line with the revenue goals.  You will be responsible for your own quota, in addition to those of your team.

You will develop and execute a strategic and comprehensive business plan for the UK, including identifying core customers, your team's strengths and weaknesses as well as your growth opportunities.

You will teach and lead your team to understand the customer’s organizational structure and work to achieve alignment.  You will work with your team to develop high level, complex sales strategies to drive revenue growth in the region. Furthermore, you’ll coach partners, accessing resources within Hortonworks to support them on specific opportunities, with the goal of building sufficient capacity to meet customers’ demand for Hortonworks-related services and skills.

You communicate an inspired and optimistic vision and win over colleagues, customers and business partners alike with your articulate business acumen, technical understanding and negotiating skills. You are known for your strong leadership, mentoring and sales drive. You core attributes are intense drive and desire, intelligence, humility and courage.  You thrive in an independent mode but also value collaboration. In addition, you have the following attributes: 

  • Deep understanding of the business and technical contexts in which key accounts are situated
  • Ability to build consultative effectiveness and establish trust
  • Extensive relationships with CXO’s in the market
  • Innovative vision and foresight to anticipate and create new opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of successful enterprise software sales
  • 3+ years of sales management
  • A proven track record of over-quota achievement
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience with Big Data, Open Source Applications, Enterprise Application Integration, Database and/or Business Intelligence software concepts and products preferred
  • BA/BS or equivalent educational background
