6:30 PM – 8:30PM: Big Data Governance and Security in Apache Hadoop – Healthcare client usecase
Highly performant, distributed Big Data systems offer enormous opportunity for businesses to leverage their data assets. Unfortunately, they also offer significant challenges when introducing them into an enterprise. Data Governance and Data Security become the main topics of concern in regulated industries. This presentation will cover how we secured a Hadoop installation for a major healthcare insurer to be Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. We will describe the issues encountered, our overall solution and then provide a demonstration of Apache Ranger which we used for fine-grained Authorization and Auditing.
