This discussion focuses on an intro to Hortonworks, Solutions Engineering, Spark Streaming and MicroBatching.
Examples will touch on integrating Spark Streaming with SQL, Kafka, and Nifi. We will be using cryptocurrency transactional data to see how Spark provides developers and data scientists an agile means to providing business users with meaningful insights.
After going through this talk, attendees will be able to use the examples as a boiler plate for prototyping streaming applications from multiple sources to include AWS Kinesis, Kafka, TCP Sockets, and Flume.

Onsite Self parking is available for $2 for each 30 minutes, $25 daily maximum. Street parking is also available.
If attendees self park in the structure, I recommend that they park at 2S (in any spot that isn’t “Reserved”), as they will need to walk on the sidewalk out of the front of the structure to the front door of the Aventine building as this event is after security restricts the parking elevator to those with building keycards.
Please bring a photo ID in order to gain access to the event.
