FoD Meetup Amsterdam: Making The Elephant Fly: Using Hadoop in the Azure Cloud

After a great Future of Data Roadshow in Amsterdam, it’s time to kick off the meetup series. This time we have speakers from Microsoft and Hortonworks lined up to discuss Hadoop deployments in the Cloud.

We thank Microsoft for kindly hosting us in their fabulous office near Schiphol Airport, and also for taking care of catering and drinks.

18:00 – Arrive, drink, eat

18:45 – Presentations

This time we will have presentations from Microsoft and Hortonworks.

1. Leveraging Hortonworks Data Flow for IoT projects in the Azure Cloud

This talk by Hortonworks shows how to connect sensors (that can be tiny embedded devices) to a resilient ingestion layer that is accessible in the cloud. Sensor flows can be configured in the HDF GUI and deployed on the edge devices with the new MiNiFi agent. The cloud service ingests all the input and uses HDP for powerful historical analysis.

2. To be announced

20:30 – Drinks and Networking

21:00 – Everybody out
