Hortonworks University are delighted to announce 4 specialized public training classes which will be available in London throughout September and October 2017. The 4 courses will be delivered directly by Hortonworks instructors who will be coming directly from HQ. These offerings are usually reserved for private onsite training, so this is a unique opportunity for all customers to attend either in class or remotely via our virtual ILT option.

HDP Developer Spark
This 5 day training course is designed for developers seeking to create and utilize applications to analyze and process Big Data. The first two days will cover the following: Essential understanding of HDP and its capabilities, Hadoop, YARN, HDFS, MapReduce/Tez, Pig, Hive. The final three days will cover these topics: Overview of Spark and Zeppelin, RDD actions and transformations, Pair RDDs, Spark SQL, Job Monitoring, Performance Tuning, Building and Submitting Spark applications, Spark MLlib, and Spark Streaming.

This 5-day training course is designed primarily for systems administrators and platform architects who need to understand HDP cluster capabilities, and manage HDP clusters. Topics include: Understanding HDF capabilities, Apache Hadoop, Apache YARN, HDFS, and other Hadoop ecosystem components. Students will understand how to administer, manage, and monitor HDP clusters. This Fast Track course covers the content from the Admin I (4 days) and Admin II (3 days) courses in an accelerated format.

This 4 day training course is designed for developers who need to create applications to analyze Big Data stored in Apache Hadoop using Apache Pig and Apache Hive, and developing applications on Apache Spark. Topics include: Essential understanding of HDP and its capabilities, Hadoop, YARN, HDFS, MapReduce/Tez, data ingestion, using Pig and Hive to perform data analytics on Big Data and an introduction to Spark Core, Spark SQL, Apache Zeppelin, and additional Spark features.

This 4 day training course is designed for developers who need to create real-time applications to ingest and process streaming data sources using Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) and Hortonworks Data Flow (HDF) environments. Specific technologies covered include: Apache Hadoop, Apache Kafka, Apache Storm & Trident, Apache Spark and Apache HBase as well as Apache NiFi and Solr. The highlight of the course is the custom workshop-styled labs that will allow participants to build complete streaming applications with Storm and Spark Streaming.
