AMSTERDAM–(BUSINESS WIRE) — Hortonworks and Yahoo!, co-hosts of the original and world’s largest Apache Hadoop community event, Hadoop Summit, today announced Hadoop Summit Europe, bringing the highly successful community-focused event to Amsterdam this spring. This will be the first and largest European conference focused exclusively on accelerating the enterprise adoption of Apache Hadoop. The event will be a gathering for the vibrant Apache Hadoop community of developers, data scientists, data professionals and solution providers, and will be held at the historic Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on March 20-21, 2013.
“In Europe, interest in Apache Hadoop is exploding and there is tremendous momentum and excitement for this big data platform,” said John Kreisa, vice president of marketing at Hortonworks. “The Hadoop community continues to grow and evolve, and Hadoop Summit Europe will provide a fantastic place for the Hadoop ecosystem to learn and share ideas and best practices under one roof. The time has come for an event like this in Europe.”
Hadoop Summit Europe will feature dozens of educational breakout sessions over two days of presentations, exhibits and discussions. Hadoop Summit Europe will bring together the brightest pioneers of the Apache Hadoop community to showcase real-world examples of how Hadoop enables organizations across a variety of markets and sizes to use big data to make a business impact.
