Hirokawa is a 30 year ICT veteran executive with an outstanding business growth track record at Hitachi, Ltd, Hitachi Data Systems, Sun Microsystems Inc., BEA Japan, and Red Hat Inc. As Regional VP and Chairman, President & Representative Director of Red Hat KK (Japan) for 8 years, he tripled the revenue of Red Hat KK and made Red Hat’s Open Source Software solutions including OS, Middleware, Cloud Management, and IoT, the de facto IT infrastructure standard for the region. Most recently, he was President & Representative Director of Midokura Japan K.K. which is a global leader of OSS SDN software network virtualization overlay.
At Hortonworks, Hirokawa will be responsible for all the business operations of Japan, directly reporting to Kamal Brar, Vice President, Asia Pacific.
