Hadoop Experts to Participate in Prominent Industry Conferences Discussing the Future of Hadoop, Big Data and Leveraging the Cloud
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—February 13, 2012—Hortonworks, a leading contributor to Apache Hadoop projects, today announced that Founders Eric Baldeschwieler and Owen O’Malley will be speaking at two upcoming conferences in Silicon Valley: Cloud Connect on February 15 and O’Reilly Strata Conference on February 29.
Both executives will discuss the power of Apache Hadoop in addressing prevailing big data challenges that companies face each day. As co-founders of Hortonworks, a startup that was named “the technology leader and ecosystem builder for the entire Hadoop industry” in a recent Forrester Research, Inc. report, they both play pivotal roles in advancing the open source project and are recognized industry experts.
At Cloud Connect, O’Malley will discuss leveraging the cloud via Apache Hadoop. Many organizations are searching for the most effective ways to leverage the cloud and most cloud technologies are a challenge to implement and are even harder for developers to use. Apache Hadoop offers a well-exercised software development platform that enables companies to take full advantage of the cloud to better manage and analyze massive amounts of data. O’Malley will walk through how Apache Hadoop’s approach to distributed computing makes it easy for the average developers to learn how to scale problems the size of the Internet.
