Hortonworks Kicks Off “The Future of Apache Hadoop”

Company Founders to Discuss the Past, Present and Future of Apache Hadoop as the Next Generation Enterprise Data Platform

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—January 23, 2012Hortonworks, a leading contributor to Apache Hadoop projects, today announced the start of its live webinar series “The Future of Apache Hadoop.” The series will feature leading authorities and many active contributors to important Apache Hadoop projects, including several Hortonworks founders. The series will provide users with unparalleled insight into the current advances in Apache Hadoop as well as look at where the major Apache Hadoop projects are headed.

The first three webinars of the series are now open for registration and the schedule will include:

  • Tuesday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET
    Sanjay Radia, Hortonworks founder, will present “Hadoop HDFS High Availability: HA NameNode”
  • Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET
    Eric Baldeschwieler, Hortonworks founder and CEO, will present “Understanding the Hortonworks Roadmap”
  • Wednesday, February 22 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET
    Alan Gates, Hortonworks founder, will present “HCatalog, Table Management for Hadoop”
