Recruit Technologies Deploys Hortonworks Data Platform for Analytics

Tokyo, Japan – October 26, 2016,Hortonworks, Inc. ® (NASDAQ: HDP), a leading innovator of open and connected data platforms, today announced that Recruit Technologies Co., Ltd. has selected Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) for its data analytics platform. As a strategic partner, Hortonworks will offer connected data platform expertise on collecting, accumulating and analyzing big data to support Recruit Technologies’ mission to develop and implement its business in a highly competitive IT environment. Recruit Technologies’ Internet marketing platform powered by HDP will meet the future needs of its customers.

Recruit Technologies had previously used siloed analytics solutions to analyze and process data including recommendations and ledger reports. As analytics and batch processing accelerated and its metrics and reporting needs became more diversified, the company was faced with the need to proactively modernize its data architecture. In addition, Recruit Technologies saw a yearly increase in the number of data analysts given the its growing need for data use across the company. To address this issue, Recruit Technologies is working with Hortonworks to adopt a connected data platforms architecture with Apache Hadoop as a central component. This will allow Recruit Technologies:

  • Freedom and speed to flexibly create definitions based on raw data and promote schema-on-read-based measures
  • Absolute ease of mind that all data is accessible and easily connected
  • Central data management allowing for the data to be consistently accurate

Recruit Technologies decided to implement HDP after evaluating the solution with the following criteria:

  • Cost advantage
  • Support subscription service
  • Deep expertise
  • A platform based on open source technology
  • Strong references from companies that have already implemented the solution

Recruit Technologies will utilize its data through Hadoop and its ecosystem, and looks forward to contributing to the open source community.

“Recruit Technologies is a fantastic example of the pattern we are seeing across the North Asia region, as more businesses look to move to next-generation data architecture, said John Kreisa, vice president of international marketing, Hortonworks. “Customers adopting Connected Data Platforms are uncovering new opportunities and efficiencies by breaking down data siloes and managing all data in a flexible and open platform.”
